We're Covering Peak Season Carrier Surcharges for Our Fulfillment Clients

As you may have heard, a number of common carriers recently announced they will apply surcharge fees up to $5 on each package delivered this holiday season. To honor our commitment to our DTC fulfillment customers, WineDirect will not pass on the new peak season surcharge fees to winery clients.

Your continued success is always our top priority and we believe that absorbing this cost is the right thing to do in the current environment — even more so given the importance of ecommerce and DTC sales. Every decision we make as a business is carefully considered, with a view toward empowering you to achieve your DTC goals, while stimulating your growth.

This summer, for example, we launched a host of new temperature control benefits including a new Arizona drop point and increased transfer frequency. We also rolled out summer shipping incentives effective through September 30th, including $5 off CoolPacks (regularly $8) and 25% off overnight express services.

As we head into what's sure to be a critically important holiday shipping season for wineries, we are putting even more measures in place to help you keep up the DTC ecommerce momentum. We have more Account Managers and Account Coordinators than ever before — at all 5 of our locations — who are eager to help make club and gifting season as seamless as possible. Beginning October 5th, they will be available to you for extended hours from 7am – 6pm PT.

We will have a third shift in place at both our Napa Valley and Glenwillow, Ohio facilities to meet your increased demand. And with higher forecasted shipping volume than ever due to an ecommerce boom, we are proud to be the first in the industry to fully offset carbon emissions for your DTC shipments.

Purchasing carbon offsets for our clients is just one example of how WineDirect is committed to giving back. Over the past few years, we have made ongoing donations to wildfire disaster relief as well as more recent support for those impacted by Covid-19. We are a proud partner of Worldreader, a non-profit organization creating unprecedented access to free digital books around the globe.
